These Terms of Sale apply to purchases made from Staffordshire Log Store through our website, by telephone or directly from our yard.
1. About us
Staffordshire Log Store

2. Our products
We supply kiln-dried hardwood logs, Beech log crates, loose tipped logs, kindling, smokeless coal, firelighters and related household fuels.
Product weights, dimensions and volumes are approximate because logs and other natural products can vary. Mixed-hardwood products contain Ash, Oak and Beech unless the relevant product page states otherwise. Beech crates contain Beech logs only.
Our kiln-dried firewood is Ready to Burn certified under certificate number WS252.
3. Prices and payment
Prices shown on the website include VAT at the rate displayed unless stated otherwise.
Delivery charges are calculated separately and displayed before an online order is confirmed.
Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered at checkout. We may decline or cancel an order if payment is not authorised, the product is unavailable or we cannot safely complete the delivery. If we cancel an order after taking payment, we will refund the amount paid.
4. Order acceptance
An automatic order email confirms that we have received your order. It does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
The contract is formed when we confirm acceptance or arrange dispatch, delivery or collection. We will contact you if we cannot accept or fulfil the order.
5. Local delivery area
Delivery is available within 35 miles of ST10 2PT, subject to the delivery postcode, vehicle access, firm ground and safe unloading conditions. Collection from our yard is also available.
Entering a postcode at checkout will show whether an online delivery option and charge are available. Please contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether your property is suitable for delivery.
National delivery is not currently offered.
6. Delivery vehicles and access
Bulk bags and crates are normally delivered using our 7.5-tonne crane lorry. Loose tipped loads are delivered using a Transit-sized tipper.
The customer must provide accurate information about:
- Narrow roads, gateways or entrances
- Weight, height or width restrictions
- Low branches, cables or other overhead obstructions
- Soft, sloping or unsuitable ground
- The proposed unloading position
- Anything else that could affect safe access or unloading
Crane unloading requires safe vehicle access, suitable firm and level ground, adequate crane reach and a safe space for unloading.
The driver has the final decision on whether access and unloading can be completed safely. The driver will not enter unsafe ground or place goods over walls, fences, buildings, parked vehicles, public roads or other obstacles where this would create an unacceptable risk.
If safe delivery cannot be completed because access information was missing or inaccurate, we may return the goods to the yard and contact you to arrange another delivery or collection. Reasonable additional delivery or collection costs may apply, but these will be explained before another delivery is arranged.
7. Delivery times
Any delivery date or time given is an estimate unless we expressly agree otherwise.
We will contact you if a significant delay occurs. Unless a different period has been agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and normally no later than 30 days after the contract is formed.
Ownership and responsibility for the goods pass to you when you, or a person nominated by you, takes physical possession of them.
8. Checking your delivery
Please inspect the goods as soon as reasonably possible.
Report damaged, faulty or incorrect goods immediately by telephoning 01782 901038 or emailing [email protected]. Photographs may help us assess and resolve the problem.
Do not burn, mix, distribute or dispose of goods that you believe are incorrect or faulty before giving us a reasonable opportunity to inspect them.
9. Cancelling an online or telephone order
For most goods ordered online or by telephone, consumers have the right to cancel without giving a reason.
You must tell us that you wish to cancel within 14 days beginning the day after you, or a person nominated by you, receives the goods.
After notifying us, you normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
You can notify us by telephone or email. Please provide your name, order number, delivery address and details of the goods being cancelled.
You may return the goods using a suitable carrier, or ask us whether we can arrange collection. Unless the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect, you are responsible for the reasonable cost of returning them or for an agreed collection charge.
Goods must be kept dry, securely stored and handled only as much as reasonably necessary to establish their nature and characteristics. We may reduce a refund where avoidable handling, use, burning, weather exposure or inadequate storage has reduced the value of the goods.
10. Refunds following cancellation
Where the legal cancellation right applies, we will refund the price paid and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.
We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods back or receive evidence that they have been returned, whichever occurs first.
Refunds will be made using the original payment method and normally within 14 days after the applicable refund condition has been met.
11. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Your statutory rights are not affected by these terms.
Goods must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their normal purpose. If goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect, contact us as soon as possible.
Where legally required, we will offer an appropriate remedy, which may include collection, repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. We will meet reasonable return or collection costs where the goods are faulty, damaged or incorrect.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights provided by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. Product storage and use
Kiln-dried logs, kindling, firelighters and solid fuels must be stored safely in a dry and suitably ventilated location, away from ignition sources and in accordance with any product instructions.
Only use fuels in suitable appliances and follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions, chimney-sweeping guidance and applicable safety advice.
We are not responsible for deterioration caused after delivery by unsuitable storage, weather exposure or misuse.
13. Our responsibility
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Products purchased by consumers are supplied for private use. Different arrangements may apply to business customers.
14. Personal information
We use personal information to process orders, arrange delivery, take payment and provide customer service. Further information is contained in our Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
The terms applying to an order are those displayed when the order is placed. We may update these terms for future orders, but changes will not retrospectively alter an accepted order.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory rights concerning the courts that may hear a dispute.
