Kiln dried · Ready to Burn WS252

Mixed Hardwood.
Dependable Heat.

A versatile blend of kiln-dried ash, oak and beech, available in bulk bags and convenient nets.

Three excellent hardwoods

A balanced fire from first flame to lasting embers.

Our mixed hardwood logs combine ash, oak and beech to provide reliable heat, an attractive flame and dependable everyday performance. Kiln drying removes excess moisture so more of the fire’s energy becomes useful heat instead of being wasted evaporating water.

Mixed hardwood is supplied in bulk bags and nets. Our wooden crates remain a separate beech-only product with their existing specifications.

Ash

A highly regarded firewood that lights readily and produces good heat with a steady flame. Ash is particularly useful while establishing the fire.

Oak

A dense hardwood known for a slower burn and long-lasting embers. Oak performs best once the appliance and flue are properly hot.

Beech

An excellent all-round hardwood offering consistent heat, a steady attractive flame and dependable burning performance.

Why choose mixed hardwood?

The benefits of ash, oak and beech.

Easier lighting
Dry ash and smaller split logs help establish the fire quickly.
Dependable heat
Dense hardwood releases heat steadily rather than disappearing too quickly.
Longer-lasting fires
Oak and beech support a slower, sustained burn once the fire is established.
Cleaner burning
Properly kiln-dried fuel creates less smoke and soot than wet or poorly seasoned wood when burned correctly.
Attractive flame
The mixture produces a lively but controllable fire followed by dependable glowing embers.
Ready for immediate use
Supplied to the Ready to Burn moisture standard when stored correctly after delivery.

Get the best from every log

How to light and burn mixed hardwood.

  1. Begin with a suitable firelighter and plenty of dry kindling.
  2. Open the appliance air controls to provide sufficient airflow.
  3. Add one or two smaller logs once the kindling is burning well.
  4. Allow the stove, firebox and chimney flue to warm properly.
  5. Add denser oak and beech pieces once a strong flame and ember bed have developed.
  6. Add fuel gradually, avoid overfilling and maintain a visible flame rather than allowing logs to smoulder.

Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s operating instructions.

Choose the right quantity

Bulk bags or nets?

Mixed hardwood bulk bags
An economical choice for regular stove and fire users who have suitable dry storage.
Mixed hardwood nets
Convenient to carry, handle and store—ideal for occasional fires or smaller storage areas.

Protect the quality

Store your logs correctly.

Keep kiln-dried logs covered, ventilated and off the ground. Protect the top from rain but avoid sealing an outdoor stack completely in plastic, as trapped condensation can introduce moisture. Keep large quantities away from the appliance and maintain working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms.

Ready to Burn and Smoke Control Areas

Ready to Burn confirms that the firewood meets the required moisture standard. If you live in a Smoke Control Area, you must also check that your appliance is approved to burn wood and use it according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
